Monument Erected At High Water Mark Of Rebellion
The Gettysburg Battlefield Memorial Association erected an artistic monument at the far northern point reached by Rebel lines. An immense bronze volume records Longstreet’s assault, listing all participating commands on both sides. Col. John B. Batchelder designed the piece declaring it the high water mark where Confederate advances turned and failed.
