Annual Meeting of the Commercial Club Consolidates Plans

The Commercial Club of Wenatchee held its annual meeting last evening with 125 members present. Officers were elected: Arthur Gunn as president, John A. Gellatly as vice president, and George R. Fisher as treasurer, with a board including Browne Horan Littlefield Case Wells Seaman and Miller. The club reviewed finances, memberships, and progress on projects such as train service, park land, water expansion, fire protection, and a proposed free bridge to Seattle. A $1,500 annual fruit inspector funding for Chelan County was confirmed, along with related deputy allowances.

Wenatchee Valley Escapes Cold Damage to Fruit Trees

Local horticulturists report the Wenatchee valley as the sole Northwest area spared from winter cold damage. Yakima and Walla Walla districts report thousands of split trees among peaches and apricots, while Chelan county records only one affected tree. Growers foresee a record apple crop due to abundant buds.

Wenatchee City Council Advances Okanogan Heights Plan

The Wenatchee city council met with all members present except O B Fuller. John A Gellatly proposed an Okanogan Heights addition while the sidewalk committee will inspect unpaved sections and report next meeting. Resolutions authorize sidewalk work on Mission Street west side with assessments to abutting properties.
