The annual meeting of the Baptist church will be held Wednesday evening. The dinner is at six o clock followed by a program of songs and solos. Addresses cover Bits of History of Baptist Church The Past Year Forward Movements and The Impressions of a Newcomer. All Baptists and friends are invited to attend. E O Jessup, Pastor.
A Milwaukee man with ties to Chicago Milwaukee and St Paul interests visited Wenatchee and explored river routes. Rumors say he planned a survey of the country to gauge future grain production prospects. The Big Bend crops are said to be excellent this year and mills owned by Mr. Browns company are operating smoothly.
Waterville and Chelan Falls milling manager George D. Brown said in the city that despite a temporary wheat market tie up cash disbursements from his mills relieved farmers who had not sold. He added that the remaining crop is not half disposed of and many farmers still hold most of their wheat for export.
A special New Year's Day service will be held at the Presbyterian church tomorrow evening. Leaders from church departments will discuss "A Forward Movement for the New Year." A general invitation is extended to the public.
In pursuance of a letter from the Department Commander a meeting of Daniel McCook Post No 105 will be held Friday January 3 at 2 pm All members are requested to be present M O Merrill Commander.

Dr N G Blalock of Walla Walla told Wenatchee citizens at the Commercial Club yesterday that Wenatchee should reach a population of 100000 in twenty years and that an open river movement may fast track river improvements. He spoke after a Chelan meeting praising the waterways plan and noted his open river director role representing Washington at the recent national congress with 1790 delegates.
Mrs G W Parrish longtime resident of Gosport Indiana and Ellensburg Yukon Territory pioneer passes away at her daughter I J Bailey’s home on Pensylvania avenue. Born Louise Katherine Treadway near Lexington Kentucky she endured frontier hardships including Indian raids and fort barricades before her death at age 65 awaiting February.
D. L. Gillespie and H. Hubert Horton dissolved their joint partnership running the postoffice Brewster Herald and candy store. Horton takes the postoffice while Gillespie continues the paper. Shops will operate in separate buildings. Reverend Ford visits Tacoma pastor Berger to review Wenatchee Heights Orchard proposal.
The Methodist church lists Wednesday evening cottage prayer meetings at three houses Mrs Holcomb on Douglas street Rev F B Utter on Walla Walla avenue and I O Smith northwest of town Further meeting locations will be announced at the church on Thursday evening Evangelistic meetings will begin at the church next week announced by H L Beightol.
Captain C. E. Hansen in town during holidays reports the government force advancing on the Columbia project. He says work is progressing well given equipment and difficulties and will finish the Methow chief work soon before moving toward Chelan rock Entiat rapids and Rocky Reach. Savings deposits at Columbia Valley Bank draw interest from January 1 1908.
