Wesley L. Jones writes Fred H. Gaston denying support for a national parcels post. He praises rural delivery regulation as aiding local merchants and limiting large mail order houses, noting he would oppose it if studies show harm to nearby stores. Ed Seaman opens the Gem Cafe on Wenatchee avenue in a building fitted for the purpose. The rush of patrons indicates the new cafe is drawing a lively crowd and proves popular with locals.

County Superintendent Bowersox reports state apportionments to Chelan Lakeside Chiwaukum Monitor Entiat Beacon Hill Wenatchee Leavenworth Cashmere Union High School districts. Sums range from 13 to 732.63 with several districts listed by number and name.

In last night's World, a misnaming appeared regarding the Roosevelt Hotel sale to J. C. Griffith. The correct purchaser is John J. Griffith. mail issues involve two men named John. Both Griffiths share the wife Josephine.
The Daily World reports Garden Home additions show strong support for city extension with 11 votes in favor and 2 against. Across Garden Home Suburban Home Second Suburban Home and Smith Park additions 49 votes were cast out of about 55 to 60 voters. The paper pledges to keep residents informed on privileges duties and taxes involved.
Superintendent A L Brown reports a letter from Jacob Riis New York thanking Wenatchee children for apples sent as a Christmas gift. Riis plans to distribute them and tell the story of the town, praising the generosity of Wenatchee and the Commercial Club. The clip notes twenty boxes sent instead of two and a freight-paid delivery by the Commercial Club.
John A. Gellatly sells nine acres of orchard land south of Wenatchee to George Beggs of Seattle for 11000. Beggs plans to move his family to the city soon. Holm and Deniston handled the sale. The firm also reports five acres in Wenatchee Heights orchard land sold for 3500 to Mr. Tabor of Tacoma.
The Wenatchee World recounts how Growthan farmers formed a home telephone line in 1903, expanding from fruitgrowers to a central exchange. One girl operated the station, later nine workers staff the exchange, and 800 instruments serve homes and businesses, making the venture a strong financial asset in the Wenatchee valley.
At a special city council meeting last night Dr J H Blake was named special health officer replacing Dr C Gilchrist who resigned. Blake said all smallpox cases are moved to the pest-house near the river and called for citizen cooperation to locate and check contagious diseases in Wenatchee.
Billy Sunday wrapped up a five week revival in Muscatine Iowa with 3759 converts the greatest total in the nation for a revival. 505 joined on the final day and $6000 plus was collected led by lumberman W L Roach. Overflow crowds filled four churches and several injuries and faintings occurred as seats ran out. Sunday left for the funeral of his stepfather George E Stowell of Herington Kan and was escorted to the depot by band and militia.
Seattle December 19 a new point will be raised in the supreme court to test the Sunday closing law as it affects theaters Prosecuting Attorney Mackintosh has moved to dismiss cases against Seattle theater managers Frank Donnallan of the Star will carry the case by stipulation The defense argues the state constitution repeal of territorial laws with local application makes the Snohomish county exemption a local clause and thus the law should have been repealed The statute is said to target mad houses and exclude a single theater in the state
