Neville Lemar of Wellington drove from the kerb into the rear of a police utility truck driven by Sergeant J T Byers on September 23. He was charged with negligent driving, found guilty, and fined £4 with £10 costs. damage to the truck was about £18. The court deemed the damage insured and refused to award further expenses.

Amarco Shire Council supports and to send a representative to a monster meeting proposed by the Wellington Chamber of Commerce to tackle the rabbit menace. Members pressed for national cooperation and preventive measures including trapping, with a view to a Wellington gathering in the near future. The council agreed to assist and will send a second representative as further advice is received.
Erragolia the Wellbyrton racehorse owned by Mr. N R O'Brien collapsed this morning while racing. The animal, a consistent performer trained by Excite ment out of Dunbarre Plarin, had shown strong form but died suddenly, drawing tributes from O'Brien and the racing fraternity.
