Bridal Shower for Mrs. Neil Braboy Narrated

Tuesday evening May 16 at Mrs. Manzer's home a bridal shower honored Mrs. Neil Braboy formerly Miss Anna Lee Graham. Guests included Mrs. Wayne Cudd and Miss Ineva Cudd with music provided by Miss Nellie Bly Slay and Ardis Kern. A large crowd viewed gifts centered by a white cake with bride and groom figurines. Reception ran 7 to 9:15 p.m.

Dodson Civic Club Backs School Library Initiative

Dodson Civic Club members meet with Mrs. T R Whisenant and Mrs. H A Painter on May 9 to discuss building the library as a joint school and public library. Jack Davis urges donations of books and magazines to support the library effort. The group also notes a city dumping ground location and park improvements as part of community service.

The Women's Missionary Society met Thursday afternoon May 11 to present programs on The Great Commission and the Ministry of Healing. Mrs. F E Woods opened with a hymn and prayer. Homemakers Class Party at Howard Riggs Home

The Homemakers Sunday school class gathered at the Riggs residence last Wednesday with over forty guests. A Mother's Day program featured monologue, readings, piano and accordion solos, and songs performed by Cora Elizabeth Clark Allene Raburn Pearl Ball Nellie Bly Slay and Dorothy J. Riggs, followed by an ice course served by the hostesses and a list of attendees.

Belles Letters Last Regular Meeting May 9

Lucille Marsh Raynor daughter of Mr and Mrs O M Marsh of Sayre and Robert E Clark of Sayre wed at 6 45 p m Wednesday May 10 in Wellington at the Methodist Church with Rev J Edmund Kirby presiding. The bride a Sayre High School graduate and the groom a Amarillo High School and University of Alabama graduate and athletic director of Sayre High School. They plan to attend the World’s Fair in New York May 24 and will reside in Sayre after September 1.

Busy Bee Quilting Club Holds All Day Meeting

The Busy Bee Quilting Club met at Mrs. Olin Cook's home on Wednesday May 3. Hostesses were Mrs. Cook and Mrs. Ralph Long. Two quilts were completed and a covered dish luncheon was served to a large group of members and guests. The next meeting will be at Mrs. M. Winter's home.
