Watts watercolor exhibit opens July 2 at Art Center
Pauline Dodge Watts, Fort Worth artist with Texas Panhandle ties, presents a July exhibition at Collingsworth County Museum Art Center. A reception July 2 from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. kicks off the month long show featuring florals and varied subjects. Watts, a former Chevron secretary, studied art in Chicago and Fort Worth and remains active with Irene Davis and Darnell Jones.

Monahans Veterans Day Celebration Honors WWII Vets
Monahans will celebrate V-J Day on August 12 1995 to honor veterans especially World War II vets. A spokesman said the event invites Collingsworth County Veterans Service Officer Elvis Pitts and attendees. WWII aircraft will arrive and display at 9 am with Ghost Squadron Colonels in attendance and numerous events planned.

BYO Fireworks Fourth Celebration at Pioneer Park
On Tuesday July 4 Pioneer Park hosts a spontaneous all day event with picnics and family activities plus a dark sky fireworks display. Breast cancer screening clinic July 14 in Wellington
The Women's Center at Harrington Cancer Center and High Plains Baptist Health Systems will hold a breast cancer screening clinic on July 14 at Collingsworth General Hospital in Wellington. Participants receive a breast exam, one on one self-examination instruction by a trained nurse, and a mammogram by a certified technician.

Wellington Independent School District reminds kindergarten third graders seventh and eleventh graders and new students to get tuberculosis testing at the Texas Department of Health office in Collingsworth County Court House Room 1. Mock emergency test simulates county tornado exercise
On Monday June 26 1995 Collingsworth County conducted a mock tornado emergency exercise. Wellington Fire Department Wellington EMS Collingsworth General Hospital Red Cross and multiple towns joined to test the disaster plan with the county jail acting as the Emergency Operation Center and staged communications among Collingsworth communities and neighboring areas.
