Hospital board approves home health sale and ward changes
Collingsworth General Hospital Board met in regular session on June 15 and discussed budget edits, cancellation of the daily buffet at the assisted living facility, and repayment options for funds used from the Cal Suggs scholarship. The board approved selling the home health unit to Preferred for $1 with a buyback clause and conditioned on attorney approval, while planning lab relocation, a new trauma room, and nurse station move. Indigent care contracts with UTMB were proposed to cap liability at $30,000, with Preferred covering ongoing costs. several staff and local officials attended.
