Donkey Ball Game Delights Wellington Crowd
Wellington spectators enjoyed a humorous soft ball game between Kiwanis and the American Legion with donkeys as baselines. The Kiwanis team won 3 to 2 amid wild mounts, slips, and a dramatic fall on the back of a donkey. John Forbis hit a home run as the donkey balked near home, and Horton was tossed from a donkey landing on his head. The Legion suffered a 106 to 9 defeat in another playful contest, with fanfare from Bert Newman and others.
