Extensive herbicide tests under Dr. Weise at Bushland station

At the Southwestern Great Plains Research Station in Bushland, Dr. Alan F. Weise directs a large herbicide study on gear and crops. Only a few chemicals, including Treflan Caparol Karmex Cetoran Dacitha Herba and Planavia are cleared for commercial use, while others remain experimental. The test, possibly the nation's most extensive since 1966, centers on Laszo Nmethoxymethyl-2-chioro-2', '6 dithylacetanilide, with commercial clearance anticipated within the year. Tests at the Dwane Scott farm involve multiple application methods and plantings to ensure robust weed presence and crop interaction.
