Wellington ISD weighs detachment from Hedley district
At a public hearing June 1992 Wellington ISD trustees reviewed a petition to detach land from Hedley ISD and annex to Wellington. Landowners cited better schooling, bus access, and community ties while Hedley warned of tax loss and legal costs. The board adopted a unanimous resolution after 15 speakers and 36 issues, with final adjournment at 1 22 a.m.
