Post Offices Targeted by Burglars in Texas and Oklahoma
Postal Inspector in Charge D C Strader reports more than 50 burglaries expected this year in the Fort Worth Division area. Rural post offices lacking night patrols are most affected, with most breaks not involving postal funds though mail theft and vandalism occur. Citizens are urged to report suspicious activity after hours to help reduce crimes and protect local post offices. The Postal Service offers up to 5000 dollars for information leading to arrests, and 24 hour contact is available at 817-885-1111.
