Fishing License Exemption Expanded in Texas Legislation
Gov. Bill Clements signed a measure restoring exemptions for Texas residents under 17 and aged 65 or older from fishing license requirements. Before April 22 these groups needed a free exempt license. Nonresidents under 17 or 65+ with similar state exemptions also qualify. The State Saltwater and Trout stamps are not required for those residents. All Texas licenses expire August 31 with new ones effective September 1.

Fund Raising Begins For Wellington Little League Ball
Wellington's Little League opens its annual fund drive on Friday June 19 with players soliciting donations directly rather than selling items. The program averages 2000 dollars per season covering uniforms equipment and travel with 142 enrolled including 48 t ball players 65 little leaguers and 29 senior league players. Senior league already runs its own drive and donors are urged to support local youth baseball.

Entries are rolling in for the Wellington Open Tennis Tournament set for June 25 to 28 at Ellison Park courts.
