Surface Highway 138 progress in Texas Oklahoma line area
State highway 138 is being hard surfaced from the Texas Oklahoma line toward highway four. About seven miles of crushed limestone base are completed and 125 workers place 1200 cubic yards of rock daily when weather allows. Contractors are Bell and Braden of Amarillo and finishing by mid August with labor needed for cement handling.

New Texts Adopted for County Schools
Logan Cummings, County Superintendent, reports 2500 pounds of old school books were shipped last week to be replaced with new texts.
