Wellington Ex-Student Association announces August 4 2001 events at Burn Handley Community Center for a 50th reunion. Registration dues 8 for exes and teachers 2 for guests. luncheon 7.50 and a fashion show plus Wall of Honor. Patrick Robertson of KEFH will host the dance at 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. and venues include the Collingsworth County Museum Wellington High School and the Wellington Fairgrounds.

Wellington Activities Center Announces New Hours and Bowling Promo
The Wellington Activities Center sets new hours starting August 5 with closures Monday and Tuesdays to Saturdays 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sundays 1 to 6 p.m. An all you can bowl offer runs for adults 18 and up on Tuesday and Thursday mornings 8 to 10 a.m. with member price 4 dollars and non member 7 dollars. Senior Citizens Bowling continues Thursday mornings 8 to 10 a.m. at 4 dollars for members and 7 dollars for non-members.

Collingsworth County Considers Burn Ban and WTRCA Lawsuit
Commissioners met in special session Tuesday July 24 to discuss a county burn ban, forest service fire danger ratings, and possible state or federal aid for ranchers after fires that burned about 20 000 acres. They also debated the West Texas Rural Counties Association medical pool litigation and agreed to pay $10 114 86 to halt further collection, with county attorney noting pool liability.
