Wellington Ex-Student Association marks fifty years of reunions
The Wellington Ex-Student Association celebrates 50 years of ex-student reunions with a Saturday August 4 event. Originating from Jimmie Cochran's 1951 idea, the gatherings grew from small classes into a five day celebration alongside Old Settlers and a rodeo, featuring dances, raffles, a 50s style luncheon show, and displays of VHS annuals and scrapbooks.

Two-A-Day Football Practices Start August 6
The school schedules two a day workouts for grades 9 through 12 starting Monday August 6 from 7 to 11 am with two two hour sessions and a 30 minute break. No evening session. Seniors and juniors pick up equipment August 3 at fieldhouse 8 to 10 am. freshmen and sophomores 10 to 12 noon. Seventh and eighth graders begin during the first day of school Monday August 20.
New hours set for Wellington Activity Center gymnastics
Wellington Activity Center announces new gymnastics hours starting August 7. School age students meet Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 4 to 5 p.m. Preschool classes to be announced later.

Wellington Activity Center Announces New Hours
The Wellington Activity Center updates its schedule starting Sunday August 5. The center will be closed Mondays. From Tuesday to Thursday the hours are seven in the morning to ten at night, and Friday through Saturday seven to eleven. Sundays open from four in the afternoon to midnight.

Tribute to life of R L Templeton by Texas House
A Texas House resolution honors R L Templeton on adjournment day. Born May 1 1920 in Collingsworth County and Wellington High School graduate, he earned UT Law degree and served as a Royal Canadian Air Force pilot from 1940 to 1942. He later served as Collingsworth County judge and state representative from 1948 to 1958, continuing public service for 22 years.
