Warren Has $1 Million Expansion Under Way

Warren Petroleum Co. has begun a $1,000,000 expansion of its McLean plant gathering system and minor plant improvements. The project, confined to Wheeler County, will extend the gathering line about 15 miles east. Completion is expected early in 1984. Warren Petroleum is a Gulf Oil subsidiary operating several plants in the southwest.

Mystery Santa PromOTION Names and Winners

The final week of the Chamber of Commerce Christmas promotion named last Mystery Santa Betsy Lemons and Reserve Santa Patsy Dodge. Kirby Campbell won 50 dollars in script for identifying the Mystery Santa, while Lisa Powell won 25 dollars for solving the clues. The event generated more excitement than any prior Chamber promotion.

Weather woes freeze rural water lines across county

John Green of the Red River Water Authority works with his son Michael to thaw rural lines in Lutie and Sumnerwood where plastic pipe froze. Main lines, roads iced and snow packed, but several utilities report no major outages. Highways crews sand bridges and clear roads as one half inch of snow and ice lingered.
