Collingsworth County Extension notes a new Master Marketer program for agricultural producers with futures knowledge. It covers 64 hours on marketing feed grains wheat cotton and livestock with sessions in Amarillo Texas from January to February 2002. Applicants must be producers or agribusiness entrepreneurs and commit to starting a county marketing club.
Marcie Langley earned 3rd with a York pig 4th with a Cross pig and 6th with a Cross pig at the Burkburnett Livestock Show. Bo Bohannon also placed 3rd with leads the way to the manger. A church program following the event invites the community to learn about the Savior born 2000 years ago and enjoy treats and fellowship.
Barney Ryan Glenn a Collingsworth County native and life resident died Thursday December 6 2001 in Wellington at age 87 Funeral services were held at 2 pm Saturday December 8 2001 at First United Methodist Church with Rev Monte Kreis officiating Burial followed at Memorial Gardens Cemetery directed by Adams Funeral Home Pallbearers included Pat Glenn Tim Wilson Burlin Wilson Mark Thompson Greg Thompson and Jim Thompson Honorary pallbearers were Carter Sunday School class members He served in the Navy Seebees in World War II and was a Wellington School Board member and Farmers Union charter member His survivors include his wife Estelline two daughters and other relatives Memorials suggested to First United Methodist Church or Wellington Cemetery Association.
