Wellington welcomes Panhandle Burial Vaults as new business
Gerald Brittain, who dug graves across the Texas panhandle, launched Panhandle Burial Vaults in October 2000 with his brother Darrell Bast after the Wellington Economic Development Board provided a building at 610 Corsicana. The venture makes 5000 psi fiberglass mesh vaults, weighing 3300 pounds with 2000 pound concrete boxes, often pouring seven at a time. Vaults come painted in colors from copper to pink. liners match outside paint and waterproof the concrete. Delivery extends to ranches and private land, with rapid orders sometimes fulfilled overnight. They trained by observing another vault company in Marlow, Oklahoma and delivered 56 vaults in November.
