County History Books Ready For Delivery
The Collingsworth County History Books have arrived and pickup dates are set. From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, December 11, 12, and 13, in the northeast corner office on the first floor of the Courthouse, old county superintendent's office, readers may collect in person. The office stays open for noon hours, books locked nightly for safety, and recipients must sign a receipt. Mailing will occur days later after cartons are prepared.

Norwood School Reshapes Play and Tourney Dates
Norwood School changes two events due to weather at Sumnerwood Schools. The Children’s Christmas Play shifts to Wednesday December 18 from December 11. Cantata at First Baptist Church Sunday Morning
The First Baptist Church congregational choir will perform John W. Petersons Cantata Love Transcending during the 11 a m service on Sunday Dec 15. A 30 voice choir features solos and duets with Kathryn Reeves as pianist and Pauline Estes on organ. Ron Long directs as decorations include wreaths poinsettias candles and a manger scene by Abbie Harris and greenery by Janice Hughes.

Christmas Blessing Fund Donations Rise to 580 This Week
The Christmas Blessing Fund has collected 580 so far this season toward a 4000 goal. Donors include Frank and Mrs. Jones of Amarillo and VFW Auxiliary 6439 among others. The fund aids holiday observances with food clothing and toys, now in its fourth year. Local committee reviews applications and distributes aid through The Wellington Leader and community offices.

Wellington ISD bands present annual Christmas concert
Wellington Independent School District will present its three bands in the Annual Christmas Concert on Sunday December 15 at 2 p.m. in the high school auditorium. That Sparkler Band leads with Up on The Housetop and A Musical Round, followed by Vesper Bells and Jolly Old St. Nicholas. Firecracker Band opens with Joy to the World and Christmas Chimes, then Hark the Herald Angels Sing and Santa's Holiday, before Skyrocket Band closes with La Nascente, Silver Bells, I'll Be Home for Christmas, Rudolph's Christmas Concert, and the Nutcracker Suite. A reception and Band Booster Club meeting follow. members of all three bands are listed.
