Wellington volunteer firefighters sustain 125 years of service
Four AEP employees and retirees serve Wellington Volunteer Fire Department. Jim Sikes, Leon Martin, Tommy Hudson and Gary Lemons log 125 total years, with Sikes at 51. They train two hours twice monthly, stay on call, and hold multiple leadership roles. The group faced fires including their own house 90s fire and a near power line blaze where power was cut to a 138 kV line.
