Lone Star Wagon Train To Stop In Wellington Aug 14
The Lone Star Wagon Train will reach Wellington between 12 30 and 1 p m Thursday August 14 as part of Texas Sesquicentennial celebrations. A lunch for 50 riders follows water and rest before heading to Pioneer Park for the night. A fish fry at Pioneer Park Thursday feeds trainees. tickets go on sale Friday for the public at 5 00, with advance sales through Tuesday.

Leslie Hammons to Represent Wellington in Wheatheart Pageant
17 year old Leslie Hammons will represent Wellington in the Miss Wheatheart of the Nation 1986 pageant in Perryton this weekend. She is entered by Collingsworth Chamber of Commerce and will depart Friday with her parents Mr and Mrs Larry Hammons. The pageant is Saturday at 7 p.m. in Perryton High School Auditorium with scholarship awards. Leslie plans to attend Air Force Academy after high school and pursue medical engineering. She has three years on the varsity track team and is a cheerleader and participant in Gifted and Talented Program since 6th grade. Her talent is a tap dance to Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy. The pageant includes a musical program and wagon train visitors, with tempers near 100 degrees affecting attendance.

5 Community Reunion Opens Saturday Evening
Plans for the annual 5 Community Reunion to be held Saturday evening August 9 and Sunday August 10 bring together former residents of Quail Crossroads Lillie Salt Fork and Marella in Burn Handley Community Center. Ex Exchange Student Minako Kiyama Visits Wellington Friends
Minako Kiyama, a 1981 82 Wellington exchange student and 1982 Miss Wellington third runnerup, returned for a six day visit with boyfriend Haruki Ezaki of Tokyo. She studies English Literature at Ferris Women’s College Yokohama and traveled from July 24 visiting Disneyland and Knott’s Berry Farm before planning a U S tour ending September 12.
