Maggie Doyle, known to police, was freed from the Workhouse after four months. At the Police Court she was sentenced again to the workhouse but the execution was suspended for twenty four hours as she expressed intent to go to Wellington. Authorities fear many of her class are leaving town.
A village resident, Voice of the People, denounces street gamblers profiting from unwary locals. The writer cites three or more gamblers, warns of losses to residents, and urges the mayor not to issue any more licenses for such activities while expressing parental concern and calls for action.
All parsons bearing any expense accounts against the Agricultural Society are asked to deliver them to the secretary before Saturday morning of this week.
Hon E B Taylor MD of the Garfield District will address a Monday evening meeting at Wellington Town Hall on Sept Sth. John P Oglevee, Republican chair, endorses him as a top speaker and urges a large audience including Democrats and Republicans with ladies invited.
Marriage notices appear for Mall Norton and Hall as well as Wells Wood in August at the Auértens House in Kiyrla O with details of parties and officiants, reflecting a late 19th century local register.
