Waslington County commissioners meet to set 1901 levy amid state apportionment needs and county debts. They approve a 1.5 dollar per hundred levy and a one cent sheep tax, select steel American Bridge Co for the main Weiser river bridge at 4725 dollars, require a 2000 dollar bond, and adjourn sine die with prior bid rejections for lacking bonds.

Ten others, including nine avowed anarchists, were booked for conspiracy to murder and will face Justice Prindivitle. Police plan a ten day continuance while investigators pursue more leads.
Emma Goldman the anarchist lecturer arrived in St Louis and spent Friday in the city, with police and federal officers pursuing her. A ticket to Chicago was purchased by a woman matching her description, but the ticket was sold to another. Authorities continue efforts to apprehend her amid heightened anarchist activity nationwide.
Abner McKinley, brother of the president, left Denver for Chicago on a special train amid news of the president's shooting. If conditions worsen a special train will reach him. he plans to go to Buffalo unless the president dies before Chicago. Chicago anarchists arrested in connection with the plot, including A Isekk, former editor of the Fire Brand.
E W Burton of Murray Idaho travels to Weiser by Thunder Mountain and cites the Weiser valley as the site for an inter-mountain metropolis. He believes the ore district will require at least 3,000 stamps to handle its yields and regards the region as the most wonderful he has seen.
