Decision Nullifies Weiser Water Electric Bond Issue
Judge Stewart ruled Monday that the Weiser water and electric light bond proceeding failed to meet legal publication requirements and the bonds were invalid because the proclamation was not published for the required period or recorded. Lack and Schmitz of Baker City were the successful bidders and the city may appeal to the state supreme court in November.

W. W. Kerr or John Williams, alias, arrested in Caldwell on telephone directives from this city. Returned Sunday morning. Charged with passing forged checks. Three checks alleged. two surfaced. One for 4.35 at Tuttle's restaurant. signer used the name Davis Drug Co. Also passed a check for Jon G. W. Jones at the Brewery.

Man Arrested for Forged Loan in Weiser Case
A young man about 25 was arrested in Caldwell, denied charges at first, but identified in Weiser by Mr. Tuttle and the man who took the check at the Brewery saloon. He bought a new suit with the money, arraigned Tuesday, and faces a preliminary exam before Justice Sanders. State Bank of Idaho Cashier Mourns Death of Father
C. J. Selwyn, cashier at the State Bank of Idaho, learned Sunday that his father, age 78, had died the previous day at Vancouver, B C. He left on the afternoon train to attend the funeral. The elder Selwyn suffered a paralyzing stroke about a year ago and never recovered.

Huntington Shooting Scrape Narrows to Alleged Robbery Attempt
County Attorney Lovejoy flew to Huntington after a report of a shooting near Idslio, eight miles below Huntington. Alvin Hall, who sold his ranch for a large sum, may have been targeted by J. L. White, who allegedly shot Hall in the leg in a robbery attempt. White is under arrest in Huntington.
