Third Annual Meeting of Womens Clubs in Weiser
The third annual session of the Second District Federation of Women’s Clubs met in Weiser at Masonic Hall with about 40 delegates from eight clubs. Sessions featured addresses, committee appointments, and discussions on education and public affairs, plus a grand musicale and social events. Fire destroys new Emmett restaurant building
A dispatch from Emmett reports a fire about 11 30 tonight razed the newly completed restaurant built by Mrs Butler. The blaze threatened the town as the hotel used lodging space and a nearby livery barn about 30 feet away was saved only by vigorous effort. The cause is unknown and wind could have worsened the disaster.

Registration closes Saturday evening Nov 1 at 9 oclock. In three Weiser precincts the total names registered are under 700, down from near a thousand two years ago. Registration places are East Weiser at East Main Street store, Middle Weiser at Cordelltore with Mrs Himmel Lynch, and West Weiser at Attorney Lovejoys office with Mrs Jeanie Stewart.

Malheur City Buzzes Over New Lumber, Mines Boom
Malheur City residents report vigorous activity as a new firm that bought the porphyry dyke above town advances development. Over 60,000 feet of lumber laid, 1000 cords of wood contracted, and a large mill expected with a multi thousand dollar payroll. wages paid last month surpassed 1800. The Red White and Blue mine near town is expanding with three shifts, aiming for a mill in operation soon.
