Seven Devils mining camp gears up for major season

The Boston and Seven Devils Copper Co prepare for an active season with the Helena and Old Pescock mines transferring hoisting gear. Plans call for a large shaft, ore bins at Landore, and expanded wagon roads to improve ore transport to a new smelter eight miles from Weiser.

Excursion 10 Council Ball Game Draws Vast Crowd

On Sunday the second anniversary of the copper spike driving, over 200 excursionists traveled from Welser and other towns to Council to see Council versus Cambridge. The crowds filled trains, hotels, and the ball grounds as Cambridge players reportedly arrived late and some fell ill, while Weiser players were pressed into service to ensure the game could proceed.
