Peerless P T Barnum the 4000 Pound Shorthorn Steer
The Peerless P. T. Barnum steer, bred in Fleming county and owned by Stith Johnson and Mr. Sterling, grew from 2500 pounds to over 4000 by mid May. Weighing about four years old, he stands seven feet high and twelve feet long, with a calm disposition suitable for children. He has toured Kentucky towns near Mt Sterling and Lexington and will appear at the World’s Fair in Flemingburg.
