Weiser Welcomes Democrats and Mines News From Salmon River

A Friday May 27 social at Hotel Weiser celebrated Miss Mary Travis, principal of the high school, with students past and present, teachers, and county superintendent Miss Harper in attendance. Lavender and white decor, games, music, farewell remarks, and dainty refreshments marked the event as an ideal display of hospitality and respect.

Strawberries and ice cream at Congregational parsonage grounds

Today Saturday June 4 an Indies event offers strawberries and ice cream served on the parsonage grounds. Afternoon activities for children include a program and refreshments for ten cents. Weber band provides music both afternoon and evening. Admission is free as attendees enjoy the open air gathering.

Wedding at Congregational Church in Weiser

One of the prettiest weddings in the city occurred at the Congregational Church on Wednesday at nine. Charles Frederick Edwards led Miss Daisy Mable Burley to the altar in a ceremony by Rev. R. W. Rogers in the presence of nearly 800 invited guests. The bride wore white silk with silk illusion veil and carried bridal roses. the groom wore black. Bridesmaid Myrtle Hitt wore white organdie. groomsman Curtis Burley stood with the couple. The church was decorated with flowers and a wedding bell arch. After the ceremony the couple went to the bride’s East Weiser home for a reception and supper for about thirty guests. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Burley. the groom, with Howards & Gaylord, works in painting. The couple intend to reside in Weiser, with warm wishes from friends.

County Board Awards Contract For Poor Farm Building

On May 31 the county commissioners met in adjourned session to consider bids for a building at the poor farm and for county physician appointments. Charles Zurfluh of Cambridge submitted the lowest bid of 90.35, accepted upon bond. other bids from Whitely and Cossitt were higher and unsigned. The board adjourned sine die. Cures Old Sore. Weatherland, Kane, May 6, 1902. Hallard Liniment claims to heal an old sore on the leg of a pup.
