In Carthage Illinois lawmakers report the Mormon church has bought the historic jail for 84000. Once the scene of a prophet’s death the building will host a mission church. The purchase signals a revival of Mormon activity in Illinois with plans for three new churches.

Nyssa Oregon March 28 H Megor don a prominent rancher shot and killed his wife after a jealous dispute at their home. The 15 year old son intervened and was shot at but escaped. Megordon then wounded himself and later turned himself in for treatment as a coroner's jury prepares murder findings.
