Wicklow probes fail to prove sedition in rounds and Wicklow case
Reports describe arrests following warrants issued by the Attorney General for sedition linked to meetings at Roundwood. The Wicklow grand jury finds no sufficient grounds for prosecution and dismisses charges against M Gee and Hollywood. The Liverpool inquest into Ellen Gallagher’s death raises questions of possible strangulation but finds no external injuries. In Oxford Circuit Weybury faces manslaughter trial over a Great Western collision at Shrivenham station with defense arguing lack of negligence and railway fault.

Court clears grand jury cess rate case. election not legally due
On Saturday the Committee heard counsel pro and con on the grand jury cess rate, then, after brief deliberation, ruled the case was not legally due at the time of the election. In Stockwell a death inquiry revealed John Thomas Perkina, 42, a noted pen manufacturer and inventor, died by laudanum poisoning after a failed patent venture and a later railway stop device idea. The jury returned Not Guilty on the charge, and Weybury and Willoughby were acquitted on manslaughter after prior proceedings.
