Accidental Death Of James Wild In Troy Ill
James Wild, born February 12 1840 in Lancashire England, was fatally injured May 3 1897 while pulling a car pin under a swinging trap door. He died May 5 after a long collapse. He lived in Troy Illinois since 1888, was a trusted family man, husband and father with two daughters and three sons. He emigrated to the United States in 1863, returning to England briefly, then settled in Illinois. He was connected with Baptist and Wesleyan churches during his life.

Through Sleeping Car To Mackinaw Resume Service
The Vansdalia Line will resume through Pullman sleeping car service from Louis to Mackinaw via Terre Haute St. Joseph Grand Rapids and Petoskey Bay. This is the only through car line from St. Louis to Michigan resorts. The southbound last sleeping car departs Mackinaw City Friday night September.
