Springfield reports detail legislative moves from April 13 to 17 including quorum gaps and first readings on bills to enable inter state and foreign lending, wage and public works salary fixes, voting machines, beer regulation, and antitrust measures. Senate actions cover mining wage rules, Shiloh battlefield commissions, university funds misappropriation probe, and street railway franchise extensions with 50 year terms and tax shares.
Telegram from Asheville North Carolina reports Mrs S M Hanna mother of Senator Hanna died of pneumonia. She had been ill about a week and was 84 or 85. Remains to be brought to Cleveland for interment. She died at the Renitfort Inn Baltimore while visiting Asheville few days earlier.
