Memorial Day Observance Draws Large Crowd in Troy
The Memorial Day celebration in Troy, under the Ladies' Cemetery Mite Society, drew many visitors despite a light shower. The program at the Presbyterian church featured Rev. James Osborn and Hon. Thomas Williamson, with a cemetery decorating procession and a park opening at Rieder's Park later in the day. Numerous local residents and visitors from Edwardsville, Greenville, St. Louis and surrounding towns attended, with socializing, contests, and a Pioneer Settlers reunion noted. The Troy Cemetery Mite Society thanks participants and The Weeky Call for support.
