Lights Extend All Night at City Plant
The city continues all night service at the electric light plant since December 31, boosting revenue as material shortages ease. Arc lights are being replaced with 50 candlepower incandescents and later 50 candlepower units at crossings. Officials aim to run private and public lighting more efficiently, though funds remain tight. Progress over six months is praised, with plans to further improve distribution once new material arrives. Some locals criticize the system, but the paper urges support for Troy’s growth.
