Special to The Weekly Call. Springfield Illinois December weather varied from dry and warm early month, aiding winter farming, to mid month heavy rains and a cold snap with snow. Conditions improved after the cold spell, with northern districts reporting excellent wheat survival, central districts favorable pastures and meadows, and southern districts more mixed in crop prospects. Rye showed improvement, and fruit buds suffered some in places. stock condition remained generally good with minor cold damage in parts.
