Silence as Virtue and Courageous Silence in Public Life
An Observer essay urges silence as a valued virtue yet argues it loses merit when misused. It contrasts quiet on wise acts with loud claims, critiques a pastor’s controversial stance on salvation by immersion, and urges frank conscience and readiness to confess or defend one’s actions. The piece reflects on public scrutiny, personal accountability, and the relief of truth-telling in a moral landscape.
