Leaves trap insects in rapid succession, digesting soft prey in about a week while shells of beetles resist digestion. Five leaves captured three flies. two opened healthy, others died after trapping. She notes traps digest many insects, leaves renew, and that traps harden into durable digestion with non flowering to preserve vigor. A finger test shows strong pressure and secretion released when trapped.
