Staff changes at Portage Mountain Hydro office

The Portage Mountain office of the B C Hydro and Power Authority sees staff shifts with Robert Dundas moving to Vancouver to become Project Engineer at the head office. W C Findlay replaces Dundas as resident engineer after years on the Portage Mountain project.

Four Injured In Moberly Lake Road Crash

Four people were injured when a 1957 Ford driven by Roy Coutrelle head on collided with a 1964 Ford driven by Rev. R Ferguson near Moberly Lake at midnight. Roy Coutrelle, Joel Coutrelle, Arlene Lalonde, and Rev Ferguson were taken to St Josephs Hospital in Dawson Creek for observation. injuries included fractures, bruises, and facial injuries. Police are investigating the crash near Mass Island.

New Bridge Over Peace River Near Chetwynd Hudson Hope Opens Soon

The Peace River crossing on the Chetwynd Hudson Hope Road is set to open to traffic by end of October. Builders focus on approaches as deck work is complete with anchors remaining. The nine month project costs about 2 million dollars and replaces ferry service aiding dam site material trucking and log transport to Fort St John Lumber Co mill in Chetwynd.
