Four Chetwynd Men Convicted on Morals Charge
Four Chetwynd men were convicted in county court on charges involving a female under fourteen. The May 8 incident led to a May 19 preliminary hearing, and a judge and jury trial last week. James Carmen Moore Ford Leonard Whalen Keith Edward Keddy were each jailed two months. Edward Perepeluk received one month. All defendants were from Chetwynd.

James Reimer Gets Hauling Contract From Fort St. John Lumber
James and Reimer Ltd of Calgary awarded a large log hauling contract by Fort St. John Lumber Co. to move three hundred million feet of logs from Hudson Hope and Portage Mountain to the Chetwynd mill over three and a half years. New equipment will handle logs from the Chetwynd and Hudson Hope districts. All processing will occur at Chetwynd with bark as the only waste.
