Pine River Diversion Moves Forward for Hart Highway

Al Gibbons of General Construction says the Pine River diversion will be completed Monday, shutting off the downstream bend and directing water into a 1500 foot ditch. Upstream work will follow, enabling 18.7 miles of Hart Highway relocation with completion targeted for July 1 1965. General Construction has 37 men on site awaiting fair weather.

Marwell Finishes Job Early at Willow Flats Gas Station

Marwell Construction completed Westcoast Transmission's Willow Flats gas pumping station ahead of the November 1 deadline. Bechtel engineer Adamson expects to depart Chetwynd soon. gas flow to begin within a week. Road work to Hudson Hope area aims for spring tenders and two twelve mile sections. base paving to 1965 standards. mileage planned six to seven miles less than current.

Mordhorst Has Good Start On Peace Bridge

Mordhorst Construction reports progress on piers and anchor work for the Peace River bridge on the H Hope Chetwynd road. Northern shore piers completed, work continues on approach bases and anchors. The pre stressed concrete structure aims to be traffic ready in early 1965 or sooner.
