Third Pulp Mill for Prince George

New Bridge Opens Over Peace River at Hudson Hope
The new pre stressed concrete span suspension bridge replaces the fading ferry at Twidwell Bend and cuts travel time on the Hudson Hope Road to Chetwynd. Mordhurst Construction built the structure and paving is expected within a year or two benefiting the lumber industry with millions of logs to be trucked to the Chetwynd Mill of Fort St John Lumber.

Murphy to Leave Fort St John Lumber to Help New Pulp Mill
Bob Murphy, manager of Fort St John Lumber Co in Chetwynd, will depart to assist in organizing a new pulp mill being built by Canadian Forest Products Ltd and Reed interests from Great Britain at Prince George. Kim McWilliams of Pacific Veneer New Westminster will take over from Murphy at year end.
