Meyer and Tod Elected Village Commissioners in Chetwynd
In Chetwynd Ray Meyer and Ralph Tod won two year terms as village commissioners with 78 ratepayers voting. In the 1.6 million school referendum 91.6 percent approved, funding 493000 over three years for schools in Chetwynd and Willow Flats plus 36000 for Windrem Elementary, 89000 for a new Elementary in Willow Flats, and 41000 for Willow Flats school building. Widening plans include an auditorium and new classrooms. 27 teachers will be needed. In Dawson Creek Ron Witherspoon defeated Walter Wright for mayor 854 to 668.
