District units unite against hospital site in Hudson Hope
Public Service Organizations, the South Peace Hospital Improvement District No 18, and the Chetwynd Chamber of Commerce oppose Hon. Eric Martin's decision to build a hospital in Hudson Hope instead of Chetwynd. Trustees urge a hospital for the Chetwynd area and plan a Victoria delegation to press their case.

Man Injured In Logging Accident In Chetwynd Operation
Willie Savord of Chetwynd was seriously injured in a logging accident at Grant Bros operation in the Lone Prairie District on Wednesday afternoon. A falling snag caused injuries including a fractured shoulder and possible broken ribs. Savord, a checkerman who had been on duty for about an hour, was near a shag when a nearby cat slipped and a tree top broke off, falling on his shoulders. He was taken to hospital in Dawson Creek by Chetwynd ambulance after initial first aid by Wink Wheeler, First Aid Officer for Fort St John Lumber in Chetwynd. The distance from accident site to hospital was about ninety one miles.
