In Columbus and Cleveland reports, eggs at farms and packing plants range from jumbo 27 to 35 cents, large 25 to 32, medium 16 to 26, small 7 to 19, with undergrades 4 to 12. Poultry prices include fryers 12 to 14 cents, hens 4 to 5, and cartons for consumer grades. Potatoes run 3.00 to 4.75. Cattle and calves in Cleveland steady to slightly down, hogs up modestly, with prime steer prices near 28.50 to 28.85 and calves 30 to 33 dollars.
Manila AP reports 48 year old Filipino farmer Quirino Berja has lived 60 feet up a coconut tree for seven weeks. He says someone aims to kill him, remains hoisted with plastic sheet shelter, rope deliveries, and food supplied by friends as relatives and reporters urge him down. He refuses, declaring fear of being killed.
Athens Ohio AP reports Mrs H L Atkinson longtime Republican party leader in the 10th District died Sunday at Sheltering Arms Hospital in Athens She was 93 and had served on the state Republican Central and Executive Committees for 16 years before retiring in 1964 and on other GOP committees for years

Truckers strike already pressures Ohio mills with potential layoffs if extended, while Ford auto strike may push demand shifts and stockpiling. Dr. Vladimir K. Tkachenko, a 25 year old central figure in a British Soviet tug of war, was returned to the Soviet Union apparently of his own free will. Britain had charged he was drugged and kidnaped by Russians. Police pulled him off a Moscow bound airliner and he was hurried into the Soviet Embassy. The British government said the move followed his own wishes. Soviet press attache Evgeniy Rogov said Tkachenko’s health was at risk and that he was a sick man going back to the Soviet Union.
EAST LIVERPOOL Ohio AP A meeting of about 300 truck drivers urged nonviolent protest as they kept a steel hauling strike. Darrell Duncan of Toledo warned against murder while William Kusley of Gary Indiana said drivers from Pittsburgh continued the halt until a contract with the Teamsters Union is signed. They oppose ICC rules requiring work through freight lines, noting 25 30 percent earnings, and 12 hour waits at mills.
Washington AP Henry Cabot Lodge rejects Michigan Governor George Romney’s claim of brainwashing over U.S. Vietnam policy. Lodge says briefings from 1965 were factual and not designed to persuade. Romney, considering a presidential run, says he was brainwashed by officials in Saigon.
Common Pleas Judge Raymond Rice heard a petition by Lori Coal Co of Dover to dissolve the corporation and appoint a receiver to liquidate assets. The company contends it is solvent but unable to meet obligations. Lahmers Jr of Gnadenhutten testified about finances and debts. Attorneys include M Paul Redinger, Paul Reed, James Patrick, Richard Stephenson, and Mario Corsi. Laurel Valley Oil Co filed suit Sept 2 seeking 11 058 dollars plus interest for fuel and oil delivered.
About 400 owner-operators in Girard Pennsylvania voted to keep their strike against steel producers and the Teamsters Union. They demand higher rates and pay for idle time, planning to present a written demand to the union and steel companies via organizer William Gusley from Gary Indiana.
Richard A. Newman 18 of Hudson was found dead in a parked car with a hose leading from the exhaust into the interior, prompting an inquiry by the Summit County Coroner's office. Investigation continues into the incident involving Newman, son of Mr. and Mrs. C William Newman.

North Vietnamese MIG interceptors downed an unarmed RF101 Voodoo on a recon mission, pilot missing. Al Chang of AP flew with the 25th Infantry. firefight followed helicopter insertions. one American wounded, one Viet Cong body found. A terrorist bombing at Nha Trang NCO club wounded 29 Americans, killed a South Vietnamese civilian, and injured two others.
Bowling Green Ohio AP reports 510 Daybrook Ottawa Corp employees will keep striking through the rest of the week with no further negotiations scheduled for now. The strike enters its 19th day Monday.

Tuscarawas County Joint Vocational School outlines a 1968 budget of 295 825 with 222 869 funded by the county and 72 955 by the state foundation. James R. Barker, 62, of RD 2 Newcomerstown died on Sunday from an apparent heart attack while working on his farm. Born in Pennsboro, West Virginia, he was a lathe operator at Al-Chrome Products Co for 17 years and a farmer. Survived by his widow Lova Stout, four sons Nathan, James, Edward, and Ralph Jr, a brother Albert, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Services Thursday at Nazarene Church with Rev. Russell E. Dickerson 74 of 509 N 15th St died of cancer Sunday in County Memorial Hospital after a 40 year career as a Johnson Motor Sales mechanic. A World War I veteran of the 308th Engineer Division he belonged to St. John's United Church of Christ Moose Lodge American Legion Post 65 and Colonial Club. Survived by a daughter and a son with seven grandchildren, service by Rev C W Bollinger is scheduled Wednesday at 1 30 p.m. at Dawson Funeral Home with burial at South Lawn Cemetery. Moose Lodge services are Tuesday night at 7 30 in the funeral home. visitation Tuesday 2 4 and 7 9 and Wednesday until services.
Jesse E Snoots 72 of RD 1 retired county highway worker died Sunday at home after brief illness. He was born near Otsego son of Isaac and Mary Snoots World War I veteran member of Silver Bar Saddle Club. Congressman Wayne L. Hays of Flushing left Washington Friday night to preside over a NATO parliamentarian committee meeting in Paris. Afterward he will travel to Moscow at the State Department’s request to examine a property exchange for embassy buildings between the two nations.
