Four Children Die In Cleveland Apartment Fire
A Friday night blaze on Buckeye Road in Cleveland’s East Side killed four children in one family and injured seven others. Residents fled the three story building as twelve to fifteen people jumped. A mailman and several bystanders aided victims and rescued children. the cause remains under investigation.

Massillon Buddies Die in Copter Crash at Sea
Three Massillon friends Tom Berry Richard Fuchs and Bill Coyne who enlisted under the buddy system in the Marines died when their helicopter crashed off Chu Lai in the South China Sea. Six other Marines also died and the bodies were not recovered. The trio from Massillon lived within two blocks of each other and had long been close companions. Coyne was engaged to Vickie Eisenbrei and the three had planned to wed on return home. All were Lance Cpls with the 1st Shore Party Battalion, 1st Marine Division, trained at Paris Island and D.C. before deployment.

The charter was draped by Krantz Sgt at Arms William Storck Morrison and Vice Cmdr Albert Feller in memory of Henry Hoerger who died December 15. Feller to Columbus department convention January 29 to represent veterans' interests with Social Security changes. Keller, who won an award, donated it to the flower fund. Women auxiliary served refreshments.

Akron Gunmen Hold Up Kroger for $20,000
Police hunted two masked men after they robbed the north side Kroger Supermarket of about $20,000 Friday night. Wearing ski masks and heavy coats, the gunmen entered shortly after closing, announced a stickup, and ordered employees and customers to freeze.
