Cleveland AP report says Sixth Battalion firemen found three firebombs at Columbia School where a small first floor fire was put out quickly. The district is described as a predominately Negro area. Earlier, Wassel Cleemage arson destroyed Giddinis Elementary in another Negro neighborhood with a $250000 loss, investigators say.
American bombers are guided to targets in North Vietnam by daily photographs from U.S. weather satellites. Weather photos from Essa and Nimbus satellites are monitored by Air Force stations in Saigon and Udorn. The prints are rushed to Lt. Gen. William W. Momyer as strikes head north.

Dayton police report two west side shootings Friday night left Georgia Jean Miller, 21, and Charles Phelps, 25, dead in their homes. A man was questioned in Miller’s death and a 61-year-old woman relative of Phelps was arrested in the other case.

Pfc. Mike Bratcher, 20, was held in the guardhouse after telling his commanding officer he quit. He faces AWOL and disobedience charges after walking into the officer's office in civilian clothing Monday, refusing to wear a uniform or attend class. He has not eaten since Thursday and will not speak. Bratcher trained at Madigan Army Hospital. his listed address is his father in St Louis with his mother in Vietnam.

In Cam Ranh Bay Vietnam rough seas and high winds paused rescue efforts after a C141 cargo jet crashed Thursday with nine crew aboard. Salvage teams searched the bay and coastline as floating ammunition cases were recovered to prevent capture by Communist forces. The aircraft carried 7,000 pounds of ammunition and broke apart after takeoff. Four crew members were accounted for, two injured and two bodies recovered.
