Mason City Iowa June 7 a seven year old boy son of Mia and Joe Flynn disappeared Tuesday after a theater rehearsal. His body was found by section foreman William Dodds fifteen miles away beside the Great Western railroad tracks. No marks of violence. footprints suggest someone carried him. Coroner police and sheriff investigate possible death cause. A sighting of a boy matching Flynn description reported six miles southeast of Mason City last night.
London reports that eight of sixteen German planes in yesterday's raid were shot down by British airmen. Four destroyed completely, two possibly out of action, and two more fallen near the coast after dropping bombs. Eighteen started, ten Dunkirk naval airmen destroyed two more and downed four. twelve killed and 36 wounded in the district warnings. Folkestone suffered heavier casualties. Two more German planes were driven down over the sea.
Washington June 7 a three reel Edison picture The Star Spangled Banner will debut June 10 to boost recruiting for 4000 sea soldiers during National Marine Corps Recruiting week June 10 to 16. A U S Marines regiment helped make the film and appears in land and water action with Marine Corps approval.
