Death of John J Birdcell in Indianapolis Hospital
John J. Birdcell died Tuesday at 4 15 PM in Methodist Hospital Indianapolis after a sudden illness that began last week. An autopsy revealed a cancerous growth. he had been active in Waynetown, ran undertaker business, and served as president of Farmers and Merchants Bank. He leaves a wife Laura Pierce and two children Fern and Louise. The funeral is today at 2 PM with Knight Templars conducting rites.

Building Large Barn West of Linden A Major Structure
W F Montgomery near Linden builds one of the region’s largest barns. The 50 by 100 foot structure will stand 45 feet high, with a cement wall surrounding and a cement floor, ready to store 245 tons of hay and 150 head of 1000 pound steers. A cement silo, 60 feet tall and 16 feet in diameter, will hold 250 tons of ensilage.

Death in New Richmond: Otto E. Quillen dies at 38
Otto E. Quillen living southwest of New Richmond died Monday night from peritonitis after a ten day illness. He was 38 and survived by a wife, his parents Mr and Mrs George H Quillen, and two brothers Charles and Ora Quillen. Cousins James and Harry Quillen attended the Round Hill funeral. Interment was at Oak Hill Cemetery Crawfordsville.

The bid topped a competing offer by the State Centennial Park Committee by 100 dollars as part of the 1 320 acre Lusk estate sale, which totaled 102 100 dollars.
