Curious tale of iron and the fate of a tribe

A fragmentary story blends myth and parable as a tribe admires iron and a father tells his son a fateful dream. The tale contrasts wealth and power with wisdom and restraint, ending with a warning about pride and sacred metal lore.

The Lion of St Mark Symbol and Pillar of Venetian Art

The fragment describes a bronze Lion of St Mark with diamond eyes, held in ornate bronze, noting its eyes are claimed diamonds. It suggests uncertain origins across eras, possibly premodern before the current century, and hints at decorative ties to Assyrian art. The piece was once set on a pedestal to lift the evangel under its fore paws.
